The Pink Elephant Challenge

This is only my 2nd Pink Elephant Challenge. It's a little different from my normal style, but I enjoyed doing it. Enjoy!

day 91, 365 cards!

Challenge = Front and Center.

I love my glue gun... and summer. Thus the following creation. Bedtime.

365 cards, days 88, 89, 90!

day 88's challenge was to make an anniversary or engagement card, i chose an anniversary card for my hubby (not until october 5th). i didn't realize how morbid it sounded until i was done, but oh well. maybe he'll think it's funny.

(the inside)

day 89 was to either use a watermelon image or use watermelon colors. this card just seems a little off composition-wise, but i really like the watermelon i made.

day 90's challenge was to just use 2 colors. i chose green and black! i really like how this one turned out. so simple and classy looking. i hand-drew the curly lines going to the flowers... i like to add hand-drawn details when i can. enjoy!

day 87, day 82, 365 cards!

Yesterday was Day 87 on 365 cards and the challenge was to use the word "eye" on the card. I pluralized it, I hope that's okay :P

I printed the peacock image and added some glitter detail... I also like the inside of the card. I don't often do much to the inside, but there you have it.

Day 82's challenge was to decorate at least 3 edges of the card, so i went for all 4... I don't usually do bright-colored cards. I like more earthy/subdued colors, but it doesn't hurt to add a little challenge, eh? This isn't my favorite, but I know that to be so even more now. You know what I do love though? My tiny glue gun.

day 86, 365 cards!

Today's challenge was to use purple as the primary color, and incorporate at least 5 circles on your card. Of course I didn't read this until after I started it and went by the title "This will be GRAPE fun!" and thought there had to actually be grapes in the pic. Either way, I enjoyed making this one. I still feel like there's something missing to really finish it. SUGGESTIONS?? Anyway, enjoy.

Card Patterns Sketch #16

For this week's Card Patterns sketch, I decided to make a Father's Day card for my dad. My dad doesn't fish, he doesn't play too often with a saw or those typical things, but he definitely wears a lot of ties. I followed the sketch pretty literally, but I'm happy with the result. I drew the tie by hand and then just cut it out with scissors.

All the paper is from a paper pack from My Mind's Eye except the dark brown which is Papertrey Ink paper... the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby as well as the white card base... and the letters are Basic Grey stickers in my FAVORITE color.

day 85, 365 cards!

On 365 cards, Sunday is always a sketch. For some reason I'm still up, so I decided to do it. I modified it a little, flipped it on its side, but here's my take. The ribbon is actually brown, but it looks like it matches the green paper. It's brown! And the buttons are a pearlized cream. i didn't even use the flash (I really should make a light box)!

Notice in the upper left corner all the baby food jars filled with buttons divided by color. Slowly but surely my craft table is beginning to have some kind of order.

Anyway, enjoy!

day 83, 365 cards!

Yesterday's challenge was to make a card with a matching envelope. I wanted the envelope to match, but not be so much the same that there was no surprise when it was opened up. I made this because I have a niece with a birthday coming up in June.

(so maybe i'm on a pink, black and white kick)

day 84, 365 cards!

Well it's been almost a month since I made any cards, mainly because we moved all my stuff into my new 'craft room/computer room' and nothing was quite organized yet. I'm working slowly to get it organized and easy to just sit down and work, so to celebrate the little progress I made on this, I made a card! Today's challenge on 365 cards was a card recipe:

1 3x3 card
1 flower
1 brad
1 piece of ribbon
1 stamped sentiment

I kept it pretty simple as usual.... here's my take. I decided to go for a kind of gift tag rather than a full-out card due to the size. enjoy!

baby Alexis

This is my first order, a baby announcement for a client of Lori George Photography, who is one of Lori's friends from high school, Kelly. I got to go with her to the maternity shoot they did and it was a lot of fun. I got to see the baby room all painted purple with butterfly bedding -- it was perfectly put together and so cute! I made the butterfly pattern from some basic shapes on Photoshop. Enjoy!
