I know, it's not even Halloween yet!  What am I doing listening to A Very She & Him Christmas on Spotify and making Christmas gift tags??  Well, when you're a designer, you have to plan for the people/customers who plan ahead :)  It's just like being in choir... you start practicing holiday music right after your fall concert is over (I really miss singing in choir!!).

Anyway, I have another FREEBIE for you today!!  These gift tags were created primarily using my Christmas Mod Digital Paper Pack, which is at a special low price, so if you want some digital papers to use for cards, scrapbook pages, wrapping paper or now to go with your gift tags, go check it out :)

October 2011 Visiting Teaching Printable, etc.

I cannot believe it's already October!  Not only is it my favorite time of year, but tomorrow I celebrate my 4th Anniversary with my husband Lucas.  Part of me can't believe it's already been four years, but another part of me feels like I've been married forever.  I'm so grateful to be married to my best friend.  Our relationship just keeps getting better and better.

Another reason I love October is the LDS General Conference, which happens every 6 months.  We're blessed to be able to watch it on TV at home.  The week before the normal sessions, there was a General Relief Society broadcast, which I absolutely loved.  President Dieter F. Uchtdorf gave a wonderful talk on the power of knowing "why."  If you missed it, here's a clip.

I feel like this month's Visiting Teaching Message fits in really nicely with President Uchtdorf's talk.

I focused on a small part of it and made a little printable handout to share (this is a 5x7).

"The “why” of obedience sanctifies our actions, transforming the mundane into the majestic. It magnifies our small acts of obedience into holy acts of consecration." - President Uchtdorf

Enjoy and feel free to share it/print it as many times as you like!

FREE LDS Wall Art Printable - I Am a Child of God

Happy Labor Day!  I made this quick wall art for my daughter's room and wanted to share.  This is an 8x10, using text from the LDS hymn, "I Am a Child of God."  Feel free to download it for your personal use!

:)  Enjoy.

"Three Little Birds" - Bob Marley

Do you remember THIS post? Well, this song inspired my latest Digital Art Printable. This is my message to you....

For the past few weeks, I've been working without my computer. I can use my husband's, so it's not the end of the world, but I've been running into some challenges not having all of my normal design tools easily at hand. I've finally gotten around to creating something new for my etsy shop, a simple digital art printable.

Family Home Evening - I Am a Child of God

This week for Family Home Evening, we had a simple lesson about how we are all children of God.

My daughter was answering all of the questions before I even asked them, so it wasn't a very long lesson. I made this simple print out with a picture of her and then outline letters "I Am a Child of God". She enjoyed trying to color in the letters and was so excited to be able to hang it on her wall at the end.

Thanks to everyone who entered the giveaway!  I may do these periodically... I think it's fun :)

I decided to choose TWO winners!  (There were 14 entries total)

To the Winners: Please send me an email at heidi.stock@gmail.com and I'll send you the .JPG you chose!!

365 Ruffles!

Time for another challenge at 365. And my apologies that I haven't been sharing the others in the past few weeks, but if you'd like to see them, follow these links:

This week, our sponsor is Sparkle Creations, who generously provided me with this rubber stamp for creating a card.  I tried my hand at some shading with colored pencils and found a color that would match the polka dot paper, which was actually pretty fun :)

The challenge for today is a springboard word: RUFFLES!  Interpret it however you like and link up your card here.

Thanks for stopping by!

Bon Appetit!

This week, 365 Cards is sponsored by 'Digital Delights' by Louby Lou.  The challenge for today is all about color opposites!  Not in the literal sense, but more about the opposite of what you would normally do, so like opposite day - what colors would you never put together?  One color I really rarely use is purple.  I just do not love it, so I have a hard time being creative with it.  I also do not generally love purple with red.  So, I used purple and red!  As a little extra challenge, I've used white with ivory/cream, which is also something I would normally try NOT to do.  Anyway, I actually really like how the colors turned out here and it reminds me of Paris for some reason!

If you go take a look at Louby Lou's Digital Delights, you'll notice that this image is a little bit different than her original design.  You may know by now that I can rarely use a digital stamp/image without altering it in some way... so I changed the eyes and moved down the brows a little.  That's it!  Well, then I digitally colored it.  I hope it inspires you to try some new crazy color combinations!

Thanks for stopping by!

An Easter Surprise :)

Good morning everyone, I hope you had a beautiful weekend!  Mine was busy, but that's just life for me right now!  I have a fun card to share with you today via 365 Cards.  It includes 2 elements: the first is a great sponsor The Stamping Boutique, who provided a cute Easter image.  My challenge this week was to create a pop-up card, which just may be the beginning of a fun theme for the week :)

I had a lot of fun digitally coloring this Bunny Egg image!  There are so many things you can do with digital stamps.  I wanted the pop-up to really be a surprise when you open the card, so I tried to make it just a regular pretty card on the outside, then BAM!  Bunny Egg!  :)  I couldn't think of a clever sentiment/punch line for the inside, so I'll just include something in the note when I give away the card.  Maybe something like "hop you're doing well!"  :)  Anyway, Happy Spring to all!

Somewhere Over the Rainbow... Yellow Birds Fly...

That's how the song goes, right?  Haha... well I'm close anyway.

... and hello from Grandma's house!  I've been here almost a week and am glad I brought my computer and the essential crafting supplies with me.  I have a card for 365 Cards and fell in love with this image from Heart Song Designs as soon as I saw it.  So cute and so whimsical.  Today's Monday challenge is called "Up in the Air" and you're supposed to include 3 images that you would find in the sky.  Mine are a bird, a rainbow and clouds.

I digitally colored the image, which is always a lot of then... then you can print it, cut it out and voila! :)  I'm especially in love with that hounds tooth pattern I created from scratch.  I kept this card super simple, but you could add any embellishments you want.  Have you ever digitally colored a digital stamp?  It's great for someone like me who doesn't use copic markers.

Hello and welcome back! I have another card for you for 365 Cards. Today, I got to be inspired and wanted to take this chance to tell you more about that!

First of all, I got to use the little ticket background image from Digi Doodle Shop.  I repeated it several times and created a fun background with it.  :)  The chandelier stamp is from Hero Arts and most everything else is PTI.  The sentiment is handwritten.

Some of you may know that last month I spent about 3 weeks out of town helping my Grandma Patty recover from a heart attack.  It was a really special time to be able to spend that much time with her (and my daughter was with us too).  Well, this card is inspired by her.  First of all, my grandma has this special gift to see the good in everyone and everything.  She just wants to be surrounded by things that are beautiful and make her feel good.  So, that's why I used this beautiful chandelier image and then highlighted the pretty scalloped pattern between the rows of ticket images.  She's the type of person who would notice that type of detail and just love it.  :)

Well, unexpectedly I have been called back to grandma's and will travel to OKC tomorrow where my husband will drop off our daughter Adelle and me, then he'll say goodbye to us for the next couple of MONTHS.  It's really challenging being apart from him that long, but he has a semester of school to finish.  Then, we will all be moving to OKC in the summer to live with my grandma and help out however we can.  We're excited for the new adventure and to get to know family that we don't know as well.  We just have to get through the distance first!  I'm grateful for the situation in my life (I work from home), where I can be available to help my family when they are in need.  As soon as I heard of my grandma's heart attack, I just knew that I needed to get down there and be available to help out.  I'm grateful for the strength I was given to follow that prompting and look forward to building up our family there.

So, yes, I was inspired!  :)  Who inspires you?

I'm Back!

It feels good to be home.  This blog has been neglected for a little while now because I was out of town for 3 weeks staying with my Grandma Patty.  I enjoyed my time there and am going back next month, possibly permanently (but next time I'll bring my crafting supplies!)

Today I have a card for 365 Cards, yes on a new day!  I will now be sharing 365 cards on Mondays!  Today's challenge is the ABC's of Crafting.  A is for Alpha Stickers/Stamps, B is for Blue, C is for Circle.  Our sponsor for this week is Sassy Studio Designs and I got to work with a cute Easter image.  I chose to only use part of it.

Here's my card :)

Glad to be back and I plan for there to be more frequent posts again!

Sketchy Saturday

Well it's been so nice outside lately that it was tough for me to sit down and make a card.  I just wanted to play outside all day!  However, I'm glad I got to make this card because it's just my style.  :)  In fact, it's based on a sketch that I created (I made the sketch first, then the card)!

When it comes to cardmaking, I'm generally all about simple simple simple!  This sketch is no exception and I'm really happy with how the card turned out.

No ribbon, no buttons, just paper and ink!  The gorgeous flower image is from Crate Paper.  LOVE it, especially the colors.  I used my Silhouette SD to cut out the frame and all the paper (and the stamp) is Papertrey Ink.  Anyway, I look forward to seeing what you can do with my sketch!  You can interpret it however you like.  Just head over to 365 Cards to find out about all the details and to link up your card!

Papertrey Ink: Mega-Sized!

This card is an oldie, but a goodie. I made this card in February of 2010, but I don't know if I ever have posted it on my blog or not. I used the PTI Damask stamp set to create this giant flower. In fact, everything is PTI except for the patterned paper and the glitter. LOVE this card and I don't have it anymore, so I will probably recreate it at some point (I'll probably leave off the glitter next time). Papertrey Ink wants us to share a card that includes a "mega-sized" element. This certainly fits the bill and I'm glad to revisit it!  ((Have I posted this before??))

I hope everyone's enjoying this Saturday!  The weather is finally starting to warm up (at least for a little while)!

It always seemed kind of ironic to me to put an exclamation point after the word "shhhhh."  Today's card is all about subtle and muted themes and colors.  I'm using part of a digital stamp from Digis with Attitude, who was our sponsor at 365 Cards this week.  I created the label on the computer, then just printed it off.  Add some ribbon and some lines drawn with a ruler and there you have it.  I popped up the sentiment on dimensional adhesive.

And before I go, I wanted to share this sweet picture of my little one.

Just a funny expression that I love!  In the background you can kind of see the quilt I made for her when she was born.  That's the only big sewing project I've ever endeavored and I'm very proud of it :)

Thanks for reading!

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Day 2

Hello hello. As part of PTI's Anniversary celebration, they put out an awesome free download of small images/sentiments that the stamp designers made. On top of that there's a giveaway with an AWESOME prize to become a guest stamp designer. All I had to do was make some cards with the free download, which was so fun! There were some that really inspired me. Take a look!

That about does it for now.  I'm sure I'll be back soon with the next installment of the PTI celebration! :)

Favorite Papertrey Project of 2010

Hello!  In celebration of Papertrey Ink's Anniversary, I want to share with you my favorite project from 2010 that used PTI products (which was basically everything).  I can't decide between these 2:

This first card was published in the August 2010 issue of CARDS magazine and a lot of it is PTI!

This next project is my Repurposed Sweater project, where I made a hat for Adelle.  The felt and button that I used for the flower are all PTI.  This one has gotten a lot of views on the blog and I'm hoping it has been helpful for others!

all you need is love - SRM sticker style!

Happy Valentine's Day! Oh wait, it's not for another week?  That's okay, I'm still excited to share this fun card today!  365 Cards gave me a special challenge today: to steal another 365er's design and make my own card from it (we call it scraplifting - maybe that sounds better than stealing).  I chose one of our regulars, Doreen!

I loved this cute little cupcake card.  Doreen does a great job of balancing bright and cheery with class and elegance.  This card is no exception.  I love the simplicity - nothing is overstated.  So, I was excited to make my own version, especially since I got to use the awesome and amazing SRM stickers, which I LOVE.  I may have mentioned that before ;)

There really aren't too many ingredients here.  The cardstock, ribbon, button and felt are all PTI.  I used some vintage book paper, a SRM sticker, a little twine and a black scrapbooking marker (with a ruler), well that about does it!  Very simple and I love how it turned out.

To participate in today's challenge at 365, take a look at cards submitted by other 365ers on the blog and make your own version of it!  Just make sure to give the proper credit for the card/cardmaker who inspired you!

Thanks for dropping in!
